Primary goal: protect staff from the dangers of infection
For the company Weiss-Druck, it was very important to protect employees from the dangers of infection. As a result, in February 2020, various areas of the state-of-the-art printing facility were equipped with a total of 65 IDEAL AP PRO air purifiers. Thomas Haas (Head of HR, Organisation, Legal) reports on the background and experiences since the acquisition of the IDEAL devices.
Thomas Haas: “We wanted to significantly reduce the risk of our employees being infected with SARS-CoV-2 throughout our indoor spaces. That is why, as a supporting measure, we decided to acquire air purifiers from the brand IDEAL. This was intended to prevent infection routes and break chains of infection. We handled this air purifier order through the company Büro-Musterhaus Prickartz from Aachen. As a reliable supplier, the Prickartz team always provides us with advice and support – including in this specific case. From the extensive range of IDEAL air purifiers, we chose the four high-performance models IDEAL AP30 PRO, IDEAL AP60 PRO, IDEAL AP80 PRO, and IDEAL AP140 PRO – all “Made in Germany.”
All devices feature low noise emissions and low energy consumption and are equipped with a 5-stage filtration system. The devices reliably help to remove aerosols, pollutants, and pathogens such as viruses and bacteria, reducing their concentration in indoor air. In addition, fine dust, chemicals, and unpleasant odours can also be filtered. IDEAL AP PRO air purifiers can also provide significant relief from allergy symptoms and ensure clean breathing air.
Thomas Haas: “Of the total 65 IDEAL AP PRO air purifiers, we chose the IDEAL AP30 PRO and IDEAL AP60 PRO models for the office/administration areas. The machine control stations within our printing facility (where the printer controls all machine settings) were equipped with several IDEAL AP140 PRO devices, and the various workshops were fitted with IDEAL AP60/AP80 PRO models. Last but not least, in our meeting rooms, canteen, and social areas – depending on the room size – the IDEAL AP30 PRO, IDEAL AP60 PRO, and IDEAL AP140 PRO models ensure improved indoor air.”
The IDEAL AP PRO air purifiers achieve high values for airflow and cleaning performance. The five multi-stage filter layers (pre-filter grid, pre-filter layer, HEPA microfiber layer, activated carbon layer, and cover layer) of the IDEAL 360° smart filter offer particularly high separation efficiency. These highly effective filters remove up to 99.99% of all particles (from 0.2 μm, according to DIN 71460-1) and pollutants from indoor air. The cartridge design ensures efficient use of the entire filter surface.
Thomas Haas: “To effectively prevent infection risks, the IDEAL devices in our administration/offices usually operate for around eight hours per day, and in the machine control stations even 24 hours.”
Many convenient features, such as the powerful turbo mode, timer function, or intelligent automatic mode, confirm the well-known high IDEAL standards of functionality and quality in these air purifiers.
Thomas Haas: “In daily use, we were particularly impressed by the ease of operation. This is very important, as many different people in our printing facility use these devices. We also find the automatic detection of air quality and corresponding programme selection very convenient. Especially for use in our machine control stations and workshops, the very robust metal housing from the IDEAL AP60 PRO model onwards plays an important role. It is completely resilient, which is definitely an advantage in these areas. The very simple filter replacement is also a noteworthy positive aspect.”
Without structural modifications, IDEAL air purifiers can be used exactly where they are needed and can be flexibly and easily placed in a new location if required. Operation is either directly on the device or conveniently via the supplied remote control. In addition, operation, monitoring, and programming of these devices are of course also possible via the “IDEAL AIR PRO” app. Furthermore, the IDEAL AS10 indoor air sensor is available, which measures and displays the air composition, indoor climate in the printing hall, and potential environmental influences in real time. In addition to fine dust classes PM2.5 and PM10, VOCs, temperature, humidity, and air pressure are also measured. All values are displayed in the associated “IDEAL AIR PRO” app. The AS10 sensor also enables networked control of IDEAL AP PRO air purifiers.
Thomas Haas: “Since the IDEAL air purifiers have been in use, our employees feel better protected due to lower levels of aerosols, particles, and pollutants in the air.”
