It was gospel time at "Musik in der Fabrik"
Balinger Konzerte's seasonal opening really reflected the gospel theme this year thanks to a visit to our site by the "Voices, Hearts & Souls" gospel choir. The singers took to the stage in our dispatch hall, which was almost completely full, getting the concert off to an extremely lively start.
The choir, directed by Juandalynn Abernathy, had prepared a very varied programme. As well as traditional gospel, the ensemble put just as much heart and soul into a modern, lively piece and gentle spirituals. They took the audience with them on a journey with passion, momentum and joie de vivre – as well as unbelievable vocal power.
Songs such as "Amazing Grace" and "Field of Souls", performed very emotionally by solo tenor Armin Glatz, really gave everyone goose bumps. In contrast, other well-known gospel music such as "Glory the Lord in the Highest" and "I Shall Wear a Crown" made it impossible for the spectators to sit still, instead leading them to clap along enthusiastically. It was a terrific performance, and the gospel choir and its own magnificent band went straight to the hearts of the spectators in the K+P dispatch hall.
